Long ago, there was a 12-year-old girl battling depression and suicidal tendencies. Having thought about committing suicide numerous times, growing up in a tumultuous household with a single parent with an AUD (Alcohol Use Disorder) and a father who was largely absent throughout my life. I started counseling around the age of 11-12 right after the time I almost lost my life due to my home being shot up when I was just a kid. I often felt that I was unimportant growing up, like nobody cared and that I didn’t have a safe space in this world. However, after over a decade of counseling and self-work, I have finally been able to reach a place of peace within my life and now, I want to help others do the same.
Growing up, I had no clue how to process my emotions or navigate personal struggles. Counseling gave me support and some clarity, but honestly, it took a lot more than that to find the kind of peace I was searching for.
When I was battling depression, I leaned into therapy—but I also started exploring other healing practices. I got into meditation, physical exercise, breathwork, massage therapy, even silent retreats. I read nonstop, dove deep into neuroscience, and worked hard to understand my emotional patterns. After years of deep self-work, I’ve finally been able to carve out a life I truly love.
I tried encouraging some of my friends to try talk therapy. While a few were open and found value in it, many struggled to apply what they learned. They still felt disconnected from their emotions or didn’t know where those feelings were coming from.
That’s why I created Value Yourself Inc. — to help bridge that gap. For people who want the benefits of therapy but also want to explore healing on their own terms. We believe in providing tools that empower, not prescribe.
